Why oud ages — and why it matters
Agarwood origin. True oud forms only inside a tree that has been naturally infected with a specific mould — a process that takes 10–30 years before any harvest is possible. It cannot be farmed at scale. This is why genuine oud costs more per gram than gold.
36 months of ageing. Freshly extracted oud oil is sharp, almost medicinal. The 36-month rest allows the volatile compounds to settle, the molecular structure to stabilise, and the full character of the wood to emerge. Most commercial oud is sold within weeks of extraction. Ours is not.
